Welcome to our website which provides information on our redevelopment proposals for 238 Kennington Lane, to build new homes for the area.

8PK PFS Investments Limited (DPK) own the Applegreen service station and recognise that the site is not currently used to its full potential. The proposals seek to enhance the site, which is well connected by public transport and will create:

  • A new, high quality, sustainable building which will be designed to complement the local neighbourhood and use materials that reflect the heritage of the area;
  • 116 new, professionally managed residential properties for private rent, including a significant proportion of affordable homes for rent;
  • A car-free development, with approximately 178 bicycle spaces to encourage sustainable travel;
  • A design that is sympathetic to the local area in scale and mass and which responds to committed developments including the redevelopment of the adjacent Tesco site and wider Oval Gasworks scheme;
  • Well-designed residential amenity space; and
  • Local job opportunities throughout construction and as part of the professional onsite team for the new building.

We have now submitted our planning application to Lambeth Council.

Changes to the submitted plans

The public consultation in November 2019 shared plans for a part-8, part-12 and part-15 storey building. Following the consultation, some minor changes were made to the design but not the height of the building.

 Following feedback from immediate site neighbours to the rear of the site, we were asked by Lambeth planning officers to review our plans.

As a result,  the scheme was amended to remove windows up to the sixth floor to allow sustainable development to take place on the adjacent site. This required changes to the internal configuration of the building and an increase to a part-9, part-13 and part-16 storey building to maintain the number of proposed units.
